Choosing the right style or length is just as important as picking the right compression.   If you are looking to improve circulation, we recommend going for a knee high or longer length for effective graduated compression therapy. Usually a physician or a registered nurse will prescribe the right length of compression stockings. However, if you are not sure, use the handy outline below to get the right length needs, be it knee high, thigh high or pantyhose.  Generally it is best to figure out what area is being affected when choosing the right length or style. If you have swelling below the knee then go with a knee high, if your swelling is above the knee, then going with a thigh high or pantyhose is the better option.  Knee High  Knee high style also known as calf length are up to just below the knee and sometimes over the top of your calf muscle depending on your leg length. These compression stockings or socks, are great for travel and prevention of mild to serious leg issues. Knee high compression stockings help with aches and minor swelling but can also come in light, moderate, firm and extra firm compression levels. They are great for summer-time as they do not get too hot, and it is much easier to go with a knee high than a thigh high or pantyhose. Compression stockings come in different support levels. But what are all these numbers mean? They indicate they amount of mmhg (millimeters of mercury) which is how compression is measured. The higher the number the tighter they are and more therapy they provide. Read below for more information.  Also you want the product to be comfortable and not too tight, and if you feel comfortable, you will end up wearing the product as prescribed which in turn will result in greater product effectiveness. How To Measure To Get The Right Fit?

Getting the right measurements is important for sizing of compression stockings. Start by getting a tape measure, any standard cloth measuring tape will do. Wash and Care Instructions

Properly washing your garment will make it last longer, and result in retaining your required compression level and support. Compression garments including compression stockings are designed with a special yarn and graduated compression technology, they are durable however, it is not recommended that they are machine washed.  Hand washing is the recommended method of cleaning your compression stockings, because material is delicate and the product may lose compression if machine washed. However, you may machine was on gentle cycle with the gardment turned inside out, and laundry safe mesh bag.  For hand washing, use warm water, and a mild detergent. We suggest using a Washing Solution specifically designed for medical compression stockings such as Jobst Jolastic or Sigvaris Washing Solution.  To protect the stockings, we recommending turning them inside out before washing. It is very important you do not use bleach or fabric softener. Rinse the product in warm water, and air dry.  Air drying is recommended, and never use a dryer to tumble dry compression garments. Do not hang the product to dry as that may stretch the fabric, but instead lean it over a chair or lay it out in the open. We recommended ordering two pairs, or more, that way you can wear one and always have a clean pair for the next day.
